(Full Year) Ballet 4: Group A

About

Ballet 4 is our pointe prep level, designed to equip dancers for pointe work and further dance studies. Emphasis remains on correct placement, muscle engagement, and mastering more advanced combinations with strong preparation and execution. Dancers in this level also explore larger aspects of artistry, refining both technique and expression as they progress. Dancers begin in flat shoes and will transition to fully-shanked pointe shoes during this level, based on individual readiness. Full Year: Monday, September 23, 2024- Friday, May 23, 2025. BALLET 4 (Group A) SCHEDULE: Attendance is three days a week. Dancers will take technique classes on all three days, pointe prep on two days, conditioning (stretch/strength) on one day, and a supplemental class (contemporary or character dance) on one day. Group A meets on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with their supplemental class on Saturday. During Session A, the Saturday supplemental class will be character dance, and in Session B, it will be contemporary. Wed: 6:00- 7:15 pm: Technique Wed: 7:15- 7:45: Pointe Prep Thu: 6:45- 8:00 pm: Technique Thu: 8:00- 8:30 pm: Pointe Prep Sat: 12:00- 12:30 pm: Conditioning Sat: 12:30- 1:45 pm: Technique Sat: 2:00- 2:45 pm: Character (Session A)/ Contemporary (Session B) Age and Placement Requirements: Ballet 4 is an Academy class for dancers aged 11-15 (approx). All Academy levels require a placement class and approval to enroll. Placement is determined by a variety of factors, including age, skill level, and prior training. Levels are designed to be taken over multiple semesters, as Academy curriculums are more extensive, and cover a wider range of skills.
